Clearing Your Browser Cache

The cache is where your browser stores information temporarily. Normally, it all works smoothly, but sometimes it needs to be emptied manually. If you experience one of the symptoms below, clearing the cache is a good first step. You will need to know which web browser you are using and what type of computer you have.

Symptoms

  • You try to post in Discussions in D2L and the subject text box shows, but not the box where you enter the posting
  • You try to log into an SCC site like the portal or D2L and receive an error where the login page should be (this has a picture of the SCC sign and prompts for email address and password)
  • You click on a portal link for D2L, Panopto, or another system and immediately receive an error.
  • A screen doesn’t show updates after you have made a change or posted a discussion
