for Interpreter Training Program

Are you seeking an associate
degree in the Interpreter Training Program (

Or, are you taking classes
for your own interest, not seeking a degree? Refer to Section II.










Section
I: Degree-seeking candidates:
ü
Complete the STC application and
submit it to the admissions office.
ü
Submit
your official high school transcript or a copy of your GED scores. If you
already have a college degree, your high school transcript isn’t necessary.
ü
If you have earned college credit,
have an official transcript sent to STC.
ü
Undergo academic assessment.
Determination of course placement in English, math and reading-based courses is
required for all entering students. Previous college credit may exempt you from this
step. Applicants with no previous college credit can meet this requirement in
one of four ways:
1.
Schedule the assessment on the
campus through the admissions office.
2.
Take the assessment at a nearby
college that offers the Asset or compass test and have the results mailed to
STC.
3.
Arrange with a college near you to
administer the Asset test to you. STC will then mail the test materials to that
college.
4.
Complete English Composition I, a
reading-based course such as psychology or history and a math class at another
college and have an official transcript sent to STC. If you choose this option,
you will be enrolled as a special student (ASAP) until you have completed the
classes and submitted the transcript.

Complete the acceptance process.
Once you have met the requirements of application and academic assessment, an
STC admissions counselor will contact you to provide further information via
e-mail, telephone conference or face-to-face interview. You will then receive an
acceptance letter in the mail.
If you begin the Interpreter
Training Program as an ASAP student, you will not receive an acceptance letter
for

Apply for financial aid. (Note: As
an ASAP student, you are not eligible for financial aid.)
ü
Register online or contact
ü Pay tuition through the business office and purchase books and materials through The Book Inn.
