Examples of SCC Attendance Policies
Here are some examples of several instructor's Online Class attendance policies:
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
An electronic e-mail is required from each student to the instructor by
the end of the drop/add period. At this time the Instructor will drop the
student from the course if it is not received. Except in extenuating
circumstances with approval by the division dean, instructors drop students from
class when 80 percent attendance is not maintained.

After the Drop/Add period, each student
will be expected to communicate with the instructor via e-mail, phone, or
appointment at least once a week and access the web class at
least once per week. After 1
week of no communication or no access, the student will be dropped from
the class. The
Instructor will award a grade of "W" or "WF" based
upon the student's academic standing at the last date of attendance, which
is the date of the last log-in.
