SCC has obtained a campus-wide license for the full versions of Respondus and StudyMate software. These programs can be installed in any college-owned computer, as well as home computers of faculty and staff (but not students). Both programs require WIndows VIsta, XP, or 2000.
Respondus enhances functionality and usability of WebCT's quiz, survey, and self-test tools. Respondus can also be used to create printed tests, and manage multiple versions and answer keys. If you are still using the Lite version, you should Many of you have used the Lite version to build quizzes for use in WebCT. The full version allows you you do much more - see the attached document for details.
StudyMate allows faculty to create online study aids and games without any programming knowledge. These learning objects can be used in Blackboard courses, posted to a public web page, or distributed on CD-ROM.
If you'd either installed on your
computer, please call the IT Help Desk at 592-4682 to have a technician assigned
or go to the online IT Help Desk and
submit a request.
Our license also allows instructors to install this on their home machines. To get your own copy of the install files, click this link here to download the install program to your computer. You can copy the files to a CD or Zip disk or Thumbdrive. - the files total about 7mB so it will take a Zip disk or CD. If you need a hand with this contact Greg Bond at bondg@sccsc.edu or ext 4974.
It's important to note that you are
not able to download the software directly from the Respondus
website.

Our license with Respondus, Inc.
does NOT permit instructors to obtain support directly from Respondus,
Inc. If our staff is unable to solve a particular question or problem, we
will contact Respondus, Inc. on your behalf.
Our license DOES permit you to
install a copy of the Respondus software on a home computer. However,
please note that you are not permitted to provide the Respondus software or the
password information to anyone who is not affiliated with SCC. Such
an action is a violation of our licensing agreement with Respondus and is also
illegal.
